Thank you for volunteering to coach Southern Lehigh Youth Baseball.  Please read through these notes prior to continuing with the application as you will need to upload several documents.

If you do not have this information completed at the time of registering your child, please continue with the player registration process and return to volunteer later. Selecting that you are interested in coaching during the player registration will indicate to SLYB that you will come back later to complete the coaching requirements.

Before participating in any baseball-related activities, every coach (head coaches and assistants) must complete all required safety and background information. These include, but are not limited to, the draft, practices, and team communications. Please note our drafts usually occur in the 2nd week of February, so please don’t delay.

Southern Lehigh Youth Baseball Coaches Application

To complete this application, you will need to complete all the trainings listed below.

All trainings except AED and the article on rain management provide a course completion certificate. Save your certificates. You will need to upload the certificates in the coach’s application.  

Course certificates you completed for prior seasons or for other sports are not acceptable.

 

Required Trainings:

AED 

Little League Abuse Awareness Training You must take this course through Little League each year.

USA Baseball Basic First Aid You will need to create a USA Baseball account to complete the course. Once logged in, select Education, then Courses, and select Basic First Aid.

CDC Heads Up Concussion Training  

All coaches will also need to upload their current

Pennsylvania State Police and 

Even if you have submitted these in the past, you will need to do it again. Background checks are good for 60 months. If your clearances will expire during the season, please complete a new one now. If you do not have current background checks to upload, please click the hyperlinks above to apply for new ones. Make sure to choose New Volunteer.

If you have not lived in PA for 10 or more years you will also need to complete a Federal Criminal History Check. That check can be done by clicking HERE. Service Code is 1KG6ZJ Select Volunteer as purpose. When you receive your results for the FBI background check, please save them as a PDF and then upload.

When uploading your certificates, you do NOT have to upload anything under "Additional State Required Clearances" or "Training Certifications (First Aid, CPR...)." You will upload clearances individually under the specific question.
